Why Do People Love Friday?

Why do people love Friday?

There are a few obvious answers that seem to suggest that Fridays are better. Some answers include: It is the last day of class before the weekend or it is the last workday before the weekend. These answers seem to suggest that people are tired or even fed up with the commercialized society we live in, where people have to work the same schedule, Monday through Friday, in order to receive a salary that will support their needs and wants. People hate Mondays because it is the start of their regular work schedule, and people love Fridays because it is the end of their normal work schedule.

The problem with this answer is that some countries and societies have a different work-schedule. For example, in Saudi Arabia Friday is the last day of the weekend—which means they probably do not think as highly of the day as people in the United States would.

Some countries may not adhere the Monday through Friday work-schedule as most countries, but a lot of people do abide by that schedule, and those people usually like Friday.

Why do they like Friday?

Well, the English word “Friday” comes from the Anglo-Saxon goddess Frige. The goddess is associated with sexuality, fertility and also wealth and power.

I believe people like Friday, because of the associations to the goddess Frige.

Why do people work? To get money and to be wealthy.
What does money get you? Usually power.
Why do we want to be rich and to have power? So we can attract partners.

Friday is a day where people are free to spend their well-earned money on things or events that will help them get a partner. I love Fridays and I bet a lot of you do too. Happy Friday.
